OITNB Season 5 – Review

When last we saw things in Litchfield, things were a little bit of a mess.
Poussey was killed by an inmate, Daya had a gun in her hand and a guard laying on the floor in front of her.

Riots and hostages are the flavors for Season 5, as we progress through three days of heaven in the life of a women’s prison. From DIY videos to slave auctions, and paparazzi shooting pictures through the windows.

Let’s have a little due process.

Blair Brown as Judy King brings her performance up a level, and the newfound relationship between Red and Blanca is delightful.
Meanwhile, Suzanne is just her good old self, full of life advice and wisdom.
And <semi-spoiler> once Piscatella is let loose…anything could happen. </spoiler>
And I hate to say it, but at the end of the day, CO Bailey is remorseful and hates his mistake…as do the rest of the inmates of course.

You’ve taught me that love hurts. You’ve taught me that life…it hurts……but I want us to be there for each other so that maybe it hurts a little less.

Third straight season I’ve reviewed…third straight season with a 9 out of 10.
