Aviously

Because, aviously…

The Crown on Netflix is a historical fiction masterpiece, following Queen Elizabeth on her journey through the decades as her royal highness.

Season 1 deals with her as The Princess and her rise to the throne, as well as many other trials and bumps throughout the 1940s and 50s.
This includes King Georges relationship with his brother, Edward, the Queen Mother and her failing health, Elizabeth’s struggles with balancing personal and royal life, and an overall view of life in the royal home.

Claire Foy is outstanding in her role as Elizabeth, and Matt Smith is great at showcasing Phillip and his antics.
Add in John Lithgow as a stubborn Winston Churchill and Vanessa Kirby as the rule bending Princess Margaret, you have a solid cast.

The Crown has left me searching Google for more and more information on the royals, and will leave you wanting a deeper look into the royal family.

This show gets an 8.5 out of 10.
