Bowe Bergdahl has become a big deal, as the US government recently got him back from terrorist organizations in Afghanistan, in return for the freeing of five terrorists from Guantanamo Bay.
But now it’s starting to come out that he may not have been a Prisoner Of War, but rather a deserter.
For starters, if he was a POW, then good job by our country doing whatever it takes to get him back, even if it means negotiating with terrorists… Which I am not a big fan of.
But if he was a deserter that got captured (or worse, voluntarily went over there), a lot of things need to be revisited.
Did he get a few soldiers killed looking for him, when really he was just a chicken?
Did the government know about it before this tradeoff, giving away terrorists for a coward?
If he was a deserter, then he needs to be held accountable for those that died for him, and a trial should be held.
If the government knew he was a deserter, then people there need to be held accountable for the releasing of terrorists for no justifiable cause.
