Blended was not on any lists of movies that I had wanted to watch, but after happening upon the DVD this past weekend, I gave it a try…and wasn’t disappointed.
Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore have teamed up on a few movies in the past, including the awesome 50 First Dates, and this movie plays out just as you’d expect with the chemistry that these two have.
Blended is about two single parents going on an awful first date (to Hooters…at which Jim (Sandler) seemingly knows all the waitresses) and trying to get as far away from each other as possible. But after Jim runs into Lauren (Barrymore) on multiple occasions, both end up on an African getaway…sharing a room, and time with each others’ kids.
With a great supporting cast, including Kevin Nealon, Joel McHale and Terry Crews; the film is filled with lots shimmying (for the guys), lots of Crews’ pecs flexes (for the girls), and a lot of great laughs (for everyone).
I would put this on everyone’s short list for comedies, and give it a 8.5 out of 10.
