It’s been a month or three since we’ve had a Song of the Day post, and while the race for the “Song of 2016” is nowhere close to being solved, as this year has been fairly dismal in terms “fresh good music”.
These songs aren’t necessarily new, or originals, but still good listenings!
Last time started with Green Day, and we’ll continue with another off of their new album!
Say Goodbye – Green Day
Violence on the rise
Like a bullet in the sky
Oh Lord have mercy on my soul
Kindred Spirits sing
For the sick and suffering (the suffering)
The city of damage control
Scars To Your Beautiful – Alessia Cara
An absolutely great music video:
But there’s a hope that’s waiting for you in the dark
You should know you’re beautiful just the way you are
And you don’t have to change a thing, the world could change its heart
No scars to your beautiful, we’re stars and we’re beautiful
Oh-oh, oh-oh
And you don’t have to change a thing, yhe world could change its heart
No scars to your beautiful, we’re stars and we’re beautiful
Here is a twinge of country, more on country music after the next edition of #AvisTravels.
Better Dig Two – The Band Perry
Here lies the girl whose only crutch
Was loving one man just a little too much
If you go before I do
I’m gonna tell the gravedigger that he better dig two
Some heavy-metal to wrap things up.
The Sound of Silence – Disturbed
In restless dreams I walked alone
Narrow streets of cobblestone
‘Neath the halo of a street lamp
I turned my collar to the cold and damp
