Some people hide behind computers and say things they don’t mean. Other people will write things out that they wouldn’t have the guts to say in person. While even more people censor what some people see, and show others their true side.

With social media you have to choose which person people see. Your Tweets or Facebook posts are instantly out there for people to see and judge.

The simplest solution of course is: Always be yourself. Don’t say things you don’t mean or won’t stand behind. If you honestly stand behind everything you say and do, you’ll never have to apologize for anything, but rather will stand up for things you believe in.

Another mistake that people make is “Deleting a post” after it comes under fire.
The way I see it, all that does is make you look guilty and weak. If you posted it in a sane and sober mindset, then what’s the issue? Other people don’t like it? Well too bad for them. This is America and the first rule that our government made was:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

My main point is this: Don’t say things to someone in private that you wouldn’t stand up behind in public.

Oh and let’s just be clear: You have these freedoms on PUBLIC property. Go into a private space or someone else’s property, and they have a right to censor you as they see fit.
Yes, that includes this blog and comments on it, or anything else I write and choose to censor.
